About

The Parent Teacher
Association (PTA) is the structure through which parents of students
in the school can work together towards the best possible education
for their children.
The PTA is a group of adults affiliated with the school that at all
times operates in a manner that respects the dignity of all the members
of the school community.
The aims of
the PTA are:
· To promote good relationships between parents, teachers, and
school management.
· To encourage the participation of parents in the running of
the school.
· To provide information, and support to parents in their role
as parents.
· To give parents an effective voice in our school community.
What
do the PTA do:
· One of the main functions of the PTA is fundraising, at meetings
members bring up things the school needs.
· Decide how to fund raise.
· Organize participation in local events, such as, the St Patrick’s
Day parade.
Why should
I get involved?
Parents are hesitant to join the PTA because they fear it will cut into
their already over scheduled lives. However, meetings are generally
held once a month, and where possible last no more than 1 hour.
· You can get up-to-date
information on what’s going on at school.
· You can add your knowledge to the group.
· You can have a constant connection to your child's school.
How do I join?
That's the easiest part! Anyone can join the PTA. Contact an existing
member of the PTA or leave your name in the office, or simply show up
at the next meeting.
