Mission Statement
The aim of Our Space is to provide an emotional support system which will allow children to make sense of and consider their feelings at times of loss in their lives.

Who is Our Space for?
We know that children will experience grief and loss at some point in their lives, either directly, or they will be affected by the grief and loss of those around them. Through the Our Space service we hope to help those children understand and acknowledge these feelings and help them to learn that it is ok to feel sad and grieve.

Who will run Our Space?
Members of staff who have been trained in bereavement and loss by Banardos and are also trained in Seasons for Growth.

When will Our Space be provided?
The service is being provided as part of the pastoral role of the school. It will be held every Tuesday after school and will run for 8 weeks at a time. There will be 3 separate groups to accommodate the different age groups in the school junior, middle, senior.

How can a child avail of the service?
The trained staff will invite the children from the school who have recently experienced loss to attend Our Space and the parent or guardian will be informed preferably in person by one of the trained members of staff after the first session. Alternatively you can approach your child’s class teacher who will advise you.

If you have any general queries about the service please contact the office on (01) 6219819.
