/ Áiléar Hatham welcomed
everyone in Arabic. Other parents also welcomed everyone in their countries
language. The chefs were kept
on their toes. The variety of food
was impressive as you can see from the flags indicating the country
of origin below. On the wall behind are some great projects from the
Senior Infants. The dads were keen
to help out - or keen to get first helpings, you decide! The barman was kept very busy!
The staff were well
fed and watered, no wonder they look so happy. Everyone loved the Libyan music.
We celebrated World
Environment Day. Julie's class learned about endangered animals. Yvonne's
class found out how to save energy and Alan's class looked at their
carbon footprint.
We celebrated Intericultural and Anti-Racism Fortnight. Junior Infants, 2nd and 4th class put togther this simple but very effective display. What do you think? Don't judge a book by its cover. You can't tell what job a person does or where they come from just by looking at them. Take time to get to know people.
We made birthday
cards for Dilroy after we read this poem.
This is a sillohette of someone from 2nd class. Do you know who it is? There are lots of things we don't know about people if we don't take time to find out.
The staff got into
the spirit of Seachtain Gaeilge. Don't they look good!!
We celebrated Martin Luther King Day by devoting a whole week to him. We talked about what he achieved, listened to his 'I have a dream' speech and wrote our own speeches. Other schools came to our school on 21st Decemeber to celebrate the Festival of Light. We had a great night with lots of singing and amazing displays to look at.
We celebrated the Winter Solstice.
We celebrated Traveller Week Travellers are Travellers
for all eternity.
We celebrated Childrens's Book Festival by buying lots of books and reading loads and loads.
